Welcome International Alliance of Theatrical Stagehands Local 74 I.A.T.S.E. Local 74 of Southern Connecticut is thrilled to celebrate it's 120th Anniversary. We provide technically trained men and women in all areas of production including rigging, carpentry, lighting, sound, props, wardrobe, hair and makeup. You may not see us in the dark, but we are there spotlighting your artist, behind the video camera at your corporate meeting, or providing audio at your next basketball game. We are able to help you with all aspects of your production including payroll and ever changing labor needs.
We have been unable to return to work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are standing at the ready to do our part when called upon to transition dormant live-event venues into field hospitals, mass vaccination sites, and/or testing sites to help in the fight against COVID-19 throughout Southern Connecticut. Now we have a unique opportunity not only to help beat this virus and save lives in this time of crisis, but also to get our skilled technicians back to work and create jobs in our community.

PausedIATSE CALLS FOR LIVE VENUES TO BECOME
COVID VACCINATION SITES USING UNION LABOR
Jonas Loeb, communications director of IATSE, says this time around, turning music venues into a vaccination center would require a new configuration. “It doesn’t use any unusual technique.” He adds, “The workers know those venues better than anyone else and can help hook up all necessary utilities quickly and efficiently. To them, it’s a relatively normal job, but with different stakes.”

Apr 16, 2021Ridgefield Playhouse 80 East Ridge Rd Ridgefield#saveliveeventsnow Now that all the election excitement is over, our country's focus has turned once again to fighting a second wave of Covid 19. We have helped with the fight by making masks, shields and promoting our members to GOTV. Let's not forget to remind them about those of us who are still sitting on the sidelines.
"From stages and venues to musicians and performers and most importantly the 12 million people who are working behind the scenes to bring shows to life, there is a massive ecosystem that has been brought to a halt without any shows currently taking place. Saving our stages is one component of what our industry needs. We also need to save the people who power live events so that they can bring music, theater, comedy and all kinds of culture back when the show can go on once again".
